Sill: Premium extruded aluminum sill (or optional bronze anodized)
with adjustable quad seal shoe, gaskets, silicone and black extended reach weatherstrip

Hinges: Zinc ball bearing hinges (default), additional finish options available

Brickmould: 2” 180 step composite brickmould attached with screw reinforced miters

Fiberglass Doors

In 2005, Madero partnered with Nan Ya Plastics, a world leader in the manufacturing of fiberglass, working with the Canadian Research and Development Corporation to develop a maintenance-free door slab and resilient full-length composite frame which meets the climate conditions found within the Canadian market.

Exceptional Strength: Madero's full length steel reinforced wood lock block offers exceptional security while allowing a range of hardware mounting options.

Low Maintenance: Smooth white fiberglass does not require paint or stain, will not discolour and withstands everyday wear and tear. Though paint/stain is not required, these door slabs can be finished to match each home's unique design and style.

Energy Efficiency: Filled with an insulating core of 100% CFC-free polyurethane foam, providing an excellent R rating, while bonding the two door skins together. Fiberglass provides a higher thermal efficiency than steel and offers a door slab that is temperate to the touch.

Strength: A steel reinforced core creates a rigid internal structure that prevents bowing and warping in extreme temperatures. Fiberglass doors will not dent, expand, contract, bow, warp or twist.

Beauty: All fiberglass door skins are made from impact-resistant fiberglass and are compression moulded to offer highly detailed panel definition. Deep embossed panels create beautiful crisp lines and deep shadows that are resistant to dents, dings, splintering, and corrosion.

Completely Waterproof: Madero's full length composite stiles and rails are composed of water resistant polymer. With no exposed wood, water absorption is eliminated. As well, composite stiles will not splinter like wood or delaminate like steel.

Flush Glazed Glass Option: A Flush Glazed finish creates a clean, uninterrupted look. Open and beaded doors are designed with a premoulded bead, blending the door slab surface for a smooth seamless line. Flush Glazing keeps the glass unit water and weather resistant for years to come. A removable stop allows the glass to be easily installed or replaced if needed.
 

Composite Frame

Brickmould: A 2” 180 step composite brickmould attached with screw reinforced miters for a tight fit.

Composite Jamb: Maintenance-free smooth white composite, in widths of 4 9/16", 6 9/16", 8 9/16" and custom to 16" accommodating 2"x4", 2"x6", 2"x8" construction.

SnapLock Nailing Fin: Incorporating a hinge-style design, Madero's SnapLock nailing fin lays flat for renovation use or snaps into place for new home construction.

Dust Pad: The pad is applied to the door jamb above the sill, helping to seal the door corners from dirt and dust.

Sill: Premium extruded aluminum sill (or optional bronze anodized) with adjustable quad seal shoe.

Construction: Mechanically fastened with screws, top and bottom. Composite provides twice the screw-holding power of wood.

Gaskets: Provide uniform seal pressure and enhances the weather barrier within the frame.

Maintenance-free: Composite offers all the strength and convenience of wood with enhanced properties, providing a moisture and damage resistant product suited for the Canadian climate.

Strength: Composite frames will not discolour, absorb moisture, splinter or rot. While similar door frames may crack or bow under the intense cycle of the Canadian climate, Madero's composite door frames have proven to stand proud against the test of time. Composite frames will not splinter or crack, providing a virtually indestructible product while reducing forced entry concerns.

Energy Saving Low-E Glass

See infrared image below of two windows during winter conditions, as seen from the inside of a room. The window on the right has a low-e coating while the window on the left doesn't. Warmer temperatures indicate a better insulating window. The second window is cooler because it has a low-emissivity coating, or low-e, as it's known. It is an invisible layer of metal on the glass that acts as an insulator.
