Dakota Door System Specifications

The 90-minute fire rated steel door combined with a durable composite frame makes this unit ideal for:

Primed High Definition Steel Door

Material: 24 gauge high definition steel slab with 10" wood lock block.

Size: 6'8" height only; 2'8", 2'10" and 3'0" widths.

Core: 100% CFC-free Polyurethane foam injected, for an excellent R rating.

Slab Finishing: Primed bright white.

Glazing: See Designs tab for factory-installed glass options.

Smooth White Composite Frame

Features: Tough exterior finish will never discolour or "yellow", and eliminates problems due to water absorption – frame will never split, rot, mold, swell or warp.

Material: Prehung in white maintenance-free composite frame with white weatherstrip, white corner pad, quality sill, vinyl shoe, and zinc ball bearing hinges.

Jamb Width: 4-9/16" (2x4) or 6-9/16" (2x6). Left hand or right hand application for inswing or outswing.

Preparation: Default single drill; optional double drill.

Brickmould: 2" 180 step composite material attached with screw reinforced miters for a tight fit; comes complete with SnapLock nailing fins.

Nailing Fins: Madero's patented SnapLock nailing fin incorporates a hinge-style design for installation flexibility. The nailing fin lays flat for ease of installation, without damaging composite brickmould, or snaps back for renovation projects.

Packaging: Blue corner protectors; Individually shrinkwrapped with installation instructions and screws included.

Warranty: Five-year limited warranty on steel slab only, contingent on painting all sides of door within 45 days of purchase. Five-year limited warranty on composite frame and components – no painting required.

Energy Saving Low-E Glass

See infrared image below of two windows during winter conditions, as seen from the inside of a room. The window on the right has a low-e coating while the window on the left doesn't. Warmer temperatures indicate a better insulating window. The second window is cooler because it has a low-emissivity coating, or low-e, as it's known. It is an invisible layer of metal on the glass that acts as an insulator.
